What is the structure and schedule of the program?

Dev Bootcamp is an 18-week program (9-weeks remote part-time, 9 weeks on-campus immersive) Following the program is an optional one-week Career Week.  

The program is divided into phases:

Phase 0 (9 weeks remote distance learning): Phase 0 introduces you to many concepts you will see in depth at Dev Bootcamp. It includes basic HTML/CSS, introduction to Ruby, introduction to Javascript, and relational database concepts. You’ll also be introduced to pair programming and interact with other students in the program. You will spend 20-25 hours each week working on the Phase 0 curriculum.

Phase 1 (3 weeks on-site): Basic Ruby, how to think and communicate like a programmer, Database and ActiveRecord. 60-80 hours per week.

Phase 2 (3 weeks on-site): How the web works, MVC, and front-end development that includes HTML CSS and JavaScript. 60-80 hours per week.

Phase 3 (3 weeks on-site): Putting previous lessons together with the Rails framework and building an original web application from scratch. The final eight days are a group final project built from the ground up which will be demo’d at graduation. 60-80 hours per week.

Career Week (1 week on-campus): The week after graduation Career Coaches will review skills and techniques that will help you search and prepare for your first job as a junior developer, including technical interview practice, resume review, salary negotiation, and personal networking and branding.
