Our goal is to create a solid foundation in web development to prepare you for both your first job as a junior web-developer as well as a long, evolving career in software development. We build this foundation with dedicated curriculum of Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, SQL, HTML and CSS, as well as giving students the learning and research tools to explore other languages (i.e. Python, SWIFT, Objective C) and platforms they may encounter in the work environment. We also include common industry practices like test-driven development, agile development and pair programming to prepare graduates for a variety of work environments.

We cover the following topics:

  • Working with databases
  • Introduction to algorithms
  • Client-side programming
  • Scalable design patterns
  • Deployment techniques
  • Agile collaboration and workflows

We teach techniques for programming using following languages and frameworks: HTML, CSS, Ruby, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, ActiveRecord, Sinatra, Rack, Rails, AJAX, JQuery.
